It Should be Us vs Them and Not You vs Me

Left, Right, Conservatives, Liberals, Neutrals— whatever name they bear. The moment you realize they are ALL united at the top and share a common goal that transcends political divides, which is to line their pockets at the expense of the working class; the sooner you realize the real battle is against them and not ourselves.

Ask yourself why politicians can bicker about everything else but put up a united front against anything that affects their bottom line.

They can throw hissy fits at each other about abortion rights, lgbtq, racism and many other issues that seem important to you but are actually trivial to them.

However, when it comes to their bread and butter which is funding wars and feeding themselves fat from government allocations, they all come together to deal mercilessly with anyone they perceive a threat.

When it comes to reproductive rights or affirmative action or other issues like whether or not pride month should be every month or not, there’s always some sort of debate and squabble at legislative sessions.

Members are often divided into almost equal parts, giving civilians the illusion of a shared identity.

“I don’t want abortion to be legal. Congressman X also doesn’t want it legal so we share similar values — I’m glad I have a person who shares my ideologies seated in congress. Ain’t politics sweet?”

Oh you naive sweet summer child; what you hold dearly, that hill you’re willing to die on means nothing to him. Make one attempt to go for his moneymaker and you’re going to see some teeth.

Whenever it comes to voting for or against foreign aids and combat support for foreign countries, notice how legislators tend to vote overwhelmingly in favor of it? When it comes to sponsoring genocides and blood shed overseas, the political lines become blurred.

One thing this conflict between Israel and Palestine has shown is that your protests only mean something when they want it to. The only reason they bowed the knee during, for example, BLM protests is because they wanted to; it was a compromise which cost them absolutely nothing.

If you think your protest is what gets to them you’re wrong.

You’re out there protesting for the end of the war against Palestine? Do you have any idea what you’re doing? You’re essentially telling them to pull the plug on their cash cow. Y’all can go to blazes as far as they’re concerned.

This is why for months, despite all the protests, the puppeteers behind all this haven’t moved a muscle. The puppeteers aren’t divided by politics but are united by a common greed.
