Walk up to a supermarket and shout “Black people suck!”, you might get pelted with some colorful language or a can of peas. Now walk up to another supermarket and shout “White people are a disease!”, and watch even some white people agree with you.
This is what it’s come to. America has become a place where anyone can shit on an entire race and nobody bats an eyelid. White people are taught right from childhood that they are racist by default, and are in a place of perpetual atonement for sins they had absolutely no hand in.
Why is a school lining up students according to race and getting the white kids to apologize to the black kids? Kids don’t see color yet it’s made an issue by either under-qualified, diversity-hired race baiters or white people who have drunk the Kool-aid so much that they don’t even feel comfortable in their own skin.
You have a psychoanalyst refer to being white as a malignant parasitic condition, a writer referring to whiteness as something that needs to be abolished, and constant opinion pieces doubling, tripling, and even quadrupling down on one sentiment; if you’re white, you’re inherently a problem.
“We’ve launched free bus lines, we’ve taken some bold actions. I won’t lie, this past winter was pretty intense — trial by snow, trial by firefighters union, and I’m getting used to dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive and white”
— Boston Mayor on St Patrick’s Day
Of course, you can argue it was a joke, she meant it as a joke, but the problem is that she felt bold enough to make that joke because she knew she would easily get away with it. Imagine the mayor of a black town giving a speech on black history and then joking that he’s had to deal with problems that are black. The whole place will come down, he would probably have to resign and crawl under a rock somewhere until it all blows over.
It’s become trendy to throw not-so-subtle shade at white people, they’re pretty much fair game. Low, scratch that, no-hanging fruit. They’re practically scattered all over the ground.
You have the cut releasing an extremely anti-white interview where people were asked “What are white people superior at?” And the answers ranged from violence to genocide, to destruction of property. Or an internal training released by coca cola where employees were encouraged to be “less white.”
Now before you say anything, I’ll love for you to run everything through my patent-pending “what if it were black test.” What it means is that you should try and imagine what the atmosphere would look like if “white” was replaced by “black.”
Imagine an internal training released by Nike encouraging employees to be less “black.” Did you feel your blood boil?
The problem isn’t even completely about the fact that some individuals have these anti-white opinions, it’s in the fact that it effortlessly makes its way into the mainstream media with very little pushback. There has to be a psychological repercussion from constantly being told that you’re a cancer, it has to rock your psyche somehow.
If you’re in this category, if you’re beginning to feel like shit for merely existing, there’s actually a word for what you’re feeling, white guilt. A feeling that stems from the belief that white people collectively bear the responsibility for the harm that black people have faced in the past.
This would have been a very good time to roll out the statistics and the polls but all I’ve been able to find are polls taken from very small sample sizes, one of them was more conservative-leaning and the other more liberal-leaning, so I couldn’t vouch for its veracity.
Instead of relying on polls, I’m going to base my opinion on what I’ve seen on social media, in movies, via the blackifying of white lead characters as opposed to creating a strong black lead character from scratch, the anti-white jokes, all pointing towards the belief that you should be ashamed of being yourself, white.
Unfortunately, the whole campaign is working. A lot of white people feel so guilty that they either silently wallow in a form of inferiority complex, or feel the need to overcompensate in the most ridiculous way possible, like these white people literally kissing the boots of some black men, or these white people begging for forgiveness from some black people for years of racism which they may or may not have had anything to do with.
Or in a more extreme case, a student getting into Stanford by writing “black lives matter” 100 times on his application.
As a black man, I have no reason to be ashamed of my color the same way you shouldn’t be ashamed of being white.
There are black horrible people and there are white monsters. Most white people aren’t racists the same way most black folks aren’t criminals. Why is it unfair to lump all blacks together but fair game to categorize every white person?
My great-great-grandfather might have been sold into slavery, who knows, but it doesn’t stop me from rolling my eyes when athletes take a knee before a match. It looks very patronizing.
Do you own a slave? Probably not, I hope not, so you have no reason to hate yourself for being who you are. Stop listening to the race baiters, most of them don’t even believe what they’re saying but keep saying it because they know there’s a big market for such rhetorics — insecure white folks.
You cannot fight one extreme with another. The cure for racism isn’t more racism.
